On Nov. 3, 2020, Colorado voters approved a measure to create a Paid Family & Medical Leave program. Contributions to the program will begin January 1, 2023 with benefits payable in 2024.
Leave and wage replacement benefits will be available to eligible CO workers for medical leave if they are unable to work due to a serious health condition (additional leave is available if the leave is needed because of complications due to pregnancy or childbirth).
Benefits include: Up to 12 weeks for family, medical, safe leave, or qualifying military exigency with the total paid for any combination capped at 12 weeks.
